    Hi friends,

i searched about 5 hours and could not find any information about a “wavy” text…i would like to use it to my intro of a video, wherein the naems of the actors are listed..but i want to dissapear them in a wavy form…like in the water.

I would be very pleased to get even a littl hint 🙂

“The Essex Movie” in youtube has also this effect.

    Thank you very much.

Methinks you can do it with displacement maps to get the wavy look, then decrease the Opacity to get them to dissapear. If the displacement map is right they will disperse nicely.

Displaccement maps can be a bit tricky, but Aharon has three tuts on them, just click his head at the top of the main AE page and scroll down.

displacement maps can produce really nice effects and allow you to get precise displacement maps, but you might try turbulent displace for a quick watery displacement effect.

aren’t there text animation presets, like 3,000 of them, I’ve seen lots of good ones for wavy, or just use effect->distort->wave warp and reduce opacity.

one of those with a pinch of organic->ocean tide.ffx perhaps. wind current.ffx is soothing.
