This is such a weird one.

I’m putting a clip of a six-second WAV sound in my timeline.

I’m only using the last two and a half seconds of the clip.

When I play it on the timeline, or in the trimmer, all is well.

But whenever I render it (I’m rendering to WMA just to send clip on internet to partner to test it), the WAV file screws up — it plays only the first second or so, looped twice!

When I try to fix it in the timeline, it becomes impossible to fix. In the trimmer, the original WAV is just a looped version of the first second or so.

However if I play the original WAV in a media player it plays as normal.

I have deleted and reloaded the WAV into Vegas, and it begins fine. But whenever I do the render to WMA it screws up again, and exactly the same way.

    Ideas?

If it’s not a corrupted file, then maybe the .wav file has some weird compression codec. I would try re-rendering as another .wav with the default template. Then try converting it to .wma.

    Good luck.
