  • waving a flag stuck to a pole

Hi again I m stuck. Havent donne any 3D before and is part of a job I took on at the client place.
He wants a raceing flag waved once like in real life.
I red all tutorials online I could find so:
    1. I made a plane, 600x 275 with 40 segment and 30 segment
    2. I rotate it 90 degrees
    3. I added the cloth tag and belt tag and made the object editable
    4. I select the points I want attached to the belt to the far left only one line of them
    5. I make a cylinder, make it editable and drag it into the belt field in belt tag on the plane. I also add a collision tag to avoid the flag going trough the pole
    11. To the cloth tag I add self colision in advance tag
    12. I put the plane into a cloth nurb to give a little depth
    13. Make material looks good
    14. I make gravity -3, wind x=3, wind y=1, wind strength=3
The flag waves but it goes to the left and down not to the right and a little down
Also when I move the pole the flag breaks apart and doesnt follow the pole nicely. As if I was to wave a flag the flag will expand stiff in the opposite direction of where i wave the flag but this flag goes ahead of the pole.
Any help much appreciated. I must admit Cinema 4D seems to be very easy but there are so many things I dont know about.

    Resolved again 🙂
Looks awesome. Must be looking into buying this software for myself.
I did not know one has to cache the cloth before attempting to move it about otherwise the belt point keep recalculating position.

I saw a tutorial on how to loop cloth but I cant get it to work for my life. It uses morph.
I dont understand the cache offset.

    How does it work?
Does it offset the cloth animation backwards if you add a megative number by that number of frames?

    Many thanks
