    Hi!

    I have a very interesting, if not complicated problem that I believe is due the Waves plugins that are installed on one of my G5 systems.

    When I attempted to launch Final Cut Pro 5, the application gets bogged down as it tries to access the Waves plugins during launch, many of which kick back errors of incompatibility. FCP is rarely launched on this system (it

    The Waves plugins can be installed at the User level…

    User/Library/Audio/Plugins

    instead of at main level

    Library/Audio/Plugins

    Move your audio plugins to the main (Pro Tools) users Library/Audio plugins folder. Create a new user for FCP. This user will not have access to the Pro Tools users plugins and FCP will not see those plug ins.

    Good Luck.

    PS: From the sound of things, you may have some OS issues and may need to re-install, but this is worth a shot first.

    Thanks for the plug-ins tip! I will give that a try.

    As for the OS issue, I was able to figure that one out. No re-install needed.
