Activity Forums Adobe After Effects Waveform

I’ve done a simple waveform on an audio clip using the ‘Audio Waveform’ effect. Now I want to make a black solid and make it’s edge follow the waveform, so that on one side of the waveform is black, and the other side is transparent… how do I do this? Is there some way I can get the solid to sort of use the waveform as part of a mask?

    Thanks in advance,

    Ben

Nevermind, I just figured it out. I composited the waveform onto the original black solid, used paint bucked on one of the sides of the waveform and made it green, and keyed that green out. Although, if anyone has any alternative means to do this, I would still like to know…

    Thanks,

    Ben
