I’m doing a multicam edit (4) DVCproHD 720p @ 24p stream. There are alot of audio tracks (21) but all but 5 channels are turned off. When I turn on waveforms only some of the clip’s waveforms are drawn, most just have x’s through them. Some clips stop midway.

The other thing is audio does not scrub or play when fast forwarding.

What system are you running and more importantly, what drives are you running? That’s a lot of audio waveforms to draw out and a slower system will have some difficulty with that.

I have the original 8-core with 9GB of RAM, with a homemade 10-Bay Sata array, test out at over 400 Mbps.

Also have a Kona3 card which should help with the DVCProHD.

I have never really even looked at this before but in System Settings prefs Memory Usage is set to – Application – 100% (2560MB) and Still Cache I upped to 50% (1205MB) seems like there is a lot of memory not available to FCP.

Deleted the waveform cache folder seemed to fit the problem.

Weird thing was it came to be watching Shane’s Cow DVD on organization and he was talking about setting the scratch disc and I just saw the set wf cache button and thought hey I wonder…
