Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro WAVE Bug

  • Posted by James Lackleter on December 11, 2013 at 7:28 am

FCPX can not import multiple wave files of the same clip making layering sound impossible. Changing the name of the clip will not help. This is an error which I’ve contacted them about, I encourage you all to contact them also. A work around is importing AIFF files, which are not affected by the bug. Hope this helps someone.

Please clarify. I am able to import multichannel broadcast wave files without issue. Change them to mono in the inspector and edit as a connected clip. You can layer multiple instances of the same clip and mute or enable whichever channels you need. You cannot import a multichannel file as individual files, unless you break it apart elsewhere first.

Yea that’s the original post I made, just wanted to correct that the AIFF workaround does work, and you can import multiple AIFF files of the same audio clip. But I can’t believe this has not been fixed, nor do they seem to care. Does this happen in the new Logic anyone?
