  • Wave and audio disappear when adding a new “IN” in PPro 2

Posted by Brent Myers on May 17, 2006 at 8:44 am

When digitizing an “AVI” (video and audio) into Premiere Pro 2.0, I later split the audio into 2 channels using the “Audio options – stereo to mono” function. When I bring the better of the two audio wave files into the source monitor, everything works fine and the audio plays across the waveform. The problem comes when I set a new “IN”. The wave and audio just disappear, and I am left with just a horizontal line. This has happened on several clips even after re-digitizing. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    1. Alt+Click the audio portion of the clip to select just the audio.
    2. Go to Clip>Audio Options>Render and Replace.

Premiere will render just the new audio portion that resulted from setting a new IN and promptly display the waveform.
