watermark
how do i put a watermark on a project, I do not want a big one across the entire edit,
just a small one with my logo in the corner like apple does sometimes? thanks Mike. -

Import the graphic…drop it on the ENTIRE length of the sequence (sorry, still have to do this)…you might have to lay it down a few times because of length limitations. Then open in in the Viewer, use the SCALE and CENTER options to size it and put it where you want it, then adjust the opacity.
Render if necessary.

Ah, the great Obi Wan Hoffman taught me the trick to making a graphic as long as you need it to be. In the Browser, go to the Duration column of the graphic and change the length to be whatever you want it to be. Can’t do this in the Viewer, has to be done in the Browser. So if you have a 30 minute show, just change the Duration to 00:30:00:00 and you just have to lay in the graphic one time. Nice tip!

can also be done in the viewer … load graphic/generator/whatever into the viewer window and type the required duration into the duration field at top left (so if you need 5 hours you type “5…”)
works a treat

I’ve no idea why FCP is so lame with extending the graphic to whatever duration is necessary. I know of no other NLE that has this needless limitation.
Has anyone any ideas why this feature should be so.

That would make this a non-issue wouldn’t it? As is usually the case, there are several alternate quick and simple methods to achive this one task in fcp.
