Activity Forums Boris FX Particle Illusion Waterfall wake

I made a nice waterfall animation with pillusion and I was wondering if anybody had suggestions on an emitter to create the wake at the bottom of a waterfall? This is basically the water disturbance at the top surface of a lake or pond as the water comes off the falls and hits the top surface of the body of water below. Thanks for the help!

I think you might be able to combine a couple of existing emitters for this. There are a couple of “ocean wave” emitters somewhere… and combine this with the “gurgle” emitter. Will take some adjustments though.

What I’ve done in the past was to create a lot of confined steam at the impact point (A line emitter with low velocity). You might try playin with some of the rain drop emitters by making the area of emission small, and the drops larger with a lower number of drops. Though , the steam has been enough for my needs.
