water trickling/sliding down glass
hi,
does anyone know how i can create an effect that looks like water sliding down a piece of glass or something. example: like when rain slides down your front windshield.

I would use a particle system like Particular to create the rain drops and the trails it leaves behind (using Particluar’s secondary particle system)
Then use a nice beveler like ReVision Shade/Shape to give it that 3D look w/lighting.
Then duplicate the layer and experiment with transfer modes to give it transparency.
Getting the behavior (motion) of the drops and trails will be crucial to sell the effect.
Very doable in AE though.good luck, hope this was not too general.

Another trick would be to use Mr mercury and glue gun both,
play around with the parameters u should really end up doing a convincing oneregards
