Water /Ocean Simulation
Here’s my art project in a nutshell:
The desired:
I need to create a 27′ X 27′ Foot (bulletin size) image panel of an oceans surface..as realistic as possible..(with waves, light reflections, from bird’s eye etc.) I’d like for it to look as hi res as I can get it,(think if the ocean could be scanned in hi res). I’ve experimented with different possibilities from using stock images(bad idea but good for reference), to using filters in Photoshop. Initially, I found a great plug-in in After Effects called “Psunami.” It does a great job, but even when outputting at the highest res(from a video program) from AE, it doesn’t give me the res I will need to blow this image up 27″ X 27″.
I then started to look for water simulation plug-ins in Photoshop but only found a plug-in called Aurora, which does an ok job, and Flood from Flaming Pear, which looks fake.. and am wondering if anyone knows of a better 3rd party plugin for this or perhaps info on doing this entirely another way. I’ve thought of 3d as a possibility, but I still wouldn’t know how to output such a hi res image from a 3D application, unless I do it in parts, which would take forever, and would make it virtually impossible to work on composing it afterwards in Photoshop(or adding other graphic elements to it). Any thoughts?..Your input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Kevin
