Was this done in Cinema 4d or Maya? – https://www.newspeak.tv/site/
Hi all – I have a very “newbie” question – I recently pruchased Cinema 4d, and love it. Recently, I came across the demo reel at: https://www.newspeak.tv/site/ (click on Winter 06/07 reel), and was wondering if they had used Cinema 4d or Maya to create some of the “growing” animation? (particularly the VH1 news flash open – it’s the one in black and white with the satellite in the middle right at the top of the reel) Or, some of the graphics where the image appears to be “growing” (like ‘vines’ growing, is the best way I can describe it – it’s more of a 2d image that starts small, and grows like a vine) – Anyone have guesses as to weather that was Cinema 4d or Maya? (or neither??). I like that style very much and am trying to figure out if it’s possible with Cinema 4d. Any information would be welcome! Thanks again 🙂

I don’t know what software they used, but I suspect the growing stuff was done in a compositing application like AE. There’s a very good tutorial on this site showing how to do it in AE.
