Warp Stabilizer with Red Footage
I’m editing a sequence with Red Epic footage. The ultimate delivery is 1080p, so I have a 1080p timeline so I can go SDI out of my Blackmagic card for monitoring color accurately. This is where the problems start. When I apply Warp Stabilizer to any footage in my 1080p timeline, I get an error that says “Warp Stabilizer requires clip dimensions to match sequence”. So my next idea was to make a sequence out of the clip I need stabilized so it’s the same dimensions as my footage, apply the WS, then copy and paste that clip into my 1080p sequence. When I do that, I get the same error message (clip dimensions need to match sequence). So, is there a way to apply stabilization to a clip without exporting the clip and re-importing?

Put the clip in a 4K timeline and add warp stabilizer to the clip. Add the 4k timeline to your 1080 timeline (nesting) and resize as needed.
If you’re doing heavy stabilization work, it may be better to skip the process until the final conform/effects stage.
