Activity Forums Adobe Premiere Pro Warp Stabilizer in Premier CC or AE CC ?

Also, many folks experience a nasty bug when using Warp Stabilizer in Premiere Pro CS6, on both Macs and PCs:

And I get it even when I’m NOT using multicam, as discussed in the above thread.

PLEASE tell me this is fixed. I just started using CC, and I REALLY, REALLY LOVE IT! I keep finding interface enhancements that I didn’t even know were going to be included, even after reading tons about new features. But this bug is really annoying, and as yet, I’m doing all stabilization in AE because of it.

[Alexandre Brandt] “Yes in Ae I set my projects to be 32 pbc actually. I’ve been working a lot with ProRes 422 and 444, Animation and HDV.”

When working at 16/32bpc in After Effects and rendering directly to ProRes, make sure to go into the output module settings and set the depth to Trillions of Colors. The default is Millions of Colors (which is only 8b).

[Alexandre Brandt] “Ruffly how much GB for 10 min at best quality in 1920×1080 25p is it ?”

DPX is heavy. 150 GB or so?

[Alexandre Brandt] “I have some shots that already have Warp Stabilizer on them. As you told me I got to apply ProcAmp or Fast Color before Warp Stabilizer to bring down the highlights. Is there a way to take the Stabilizer effect off but keep the settings, then apply Fast Color and then bring back Stabilizer in a way it does not need to calculate again the image ? It would be really great because I’m on a MacBookPro from 2008 so…”

Leave the Warp Stabilizer on, and drop the Proc Amp effect above it. You’ll then have the option of re-analyzing the footage, but I don’t think it’s required since changing brightness will have no impact on motion estimation.

    Ok Great.

One more question. If I plan to export Apple Pro Res 4444 or Animation to do color correction with, should I then apply Fast Color and bring down my ‘burnt’ highlights to 1.0 max (the RGB limit as discussed) before exporting my shots ?

    Thanks !

    Hi Wil,

The bug you called out should be resolved in CS6 6.0.4/6.0.5 and Premiere Pro CC.

Please let us know if you encounter this error again.

    Thanks!
