I’ve been using Sony Vegas Pro 11 for several months now and besides a few bumps in the road, it works great.

However, without any warning, one of my project files won’t open. It says that it’s “either corrupted or an unknown format”. I don’t know why this is happening for this specific file. The clips and music I’m using I use in several other files that are still working.

I deleted all my .sfk and .sfl files but still nothing.

    Help?

Have you recently uninstalled anything/plugins from Vegas?
Also try importing the project file as you would a normal
    footage.

I figured it out! I had a vegas “.bak” file for the project. I just changed the extension to “.veg” and Vegas allowed me to open the back up. Phew! Thanks for replying though! 😀

Thanks Sarah I encounter the same error message Warning an error occurred while loading the program file. So I look for the project “bak” file and change the extension to “veg” and Sony Vegas allowed me to open the file. What a relief I though I had lost all the content and had to restart all over after a month of work.
