You could move them all to an adjustment layer.

Paul’s right that this would be about the closest you’re gonna get. That way you can just disable the track.

Probably not well suited to a project in progress, but certainly something to consider in the workflow of subsequent projects.

You know you can copy a clip to a layer above it then turn it into an adjustment layer. Then highlight the original clip and remove the effects. This would allow you to easily enable/disable all the effects for that clip or clips if you have multiple adjustment layers selected.

Ahhh I didn’t know you can change it to an adjustment layer….

or are you doing a media replace?

No. Just right click and select Adjustment Layer. It will retain the effects. It keeps the name so that part can seem deceiving. Pretty handy. Rather than dragging out a bunch of Adjustment Layers to fit each clip you can just do the copy and change thing really quick.

Other cool uses for this function too, though some have been rendered a little obsolete by the new mask tools that accompany every effect now.

Please, everyone go to Adobe and voice your opinion on this. I’ve been submitting this request since CS5.. We had it in FCP7 and it saved my butt on many occasions. This is especially needed now because of 4k. Thanks!
