  • Want to use waveform monitor/vectorscope in a separate undocked window

This might have a super-obvious solution, but I can’t for the life of me find it.

I want to be able to have my scopes open in a window while also viewing the composite video in another window. This way, I can adjust the color by eye, while keeping one eye on the scopes to make sure my levels are OK. Switching back and forth on the drop down menu is a pain.

    Any ideas?

You can load scopes in the Source Monitor in the same manner as the Program Monitor. You must have at least one clip loaded there in order to load the scopes however.

    Window > Reference Monitor

Then you can place it wherever you like.

You might also try the Color Correction workspace (Window > Workspace > Color Correction or Alt+Shift+2).

Why would you want to do it that way instead of the stupid way that I outlined….sorry.

The reference monitor works if you want to open ONE of the scopes.
But what if you want to have the Waveform and Vectorscope open?
Because who would ever want to have them both visible at all times during color correction?
Premiere will not allow me to open a SECOND reference monitor. Am I missing something?

    Thanks in advance
