  • Want to change audio channel on redigitizing

Posted by Doug Normington on November 9, 2007 at 3:31 pm

    Hi!

I ahve a bin of footage that needs to be redigitized. It was originally digitized with audio channel one. Now it needs to be redigitized with audio channel 2

This is firewire so I can’t just swap the audio cables.

The MODIFY clip command will not allow the changing of audio channels. I tried that.

There has to be a way to do this.

    Thank you!

Have you unlinked the clips, then tried to Modify them? If they’re still linked to media I don’t believe you can’t change the video or audio settings via Modify. Hold Shift+Alt+Ctrl (I think) and go to the Clip or Bin menu and where it normally says Relink it should now say Unlink. You can unlink them, modify to capture A2, then batch capture.

You could also export as .ALE, and modify that in a text editor.
Easier way to do this, is to get a copy of ALE cleaner from my site, and use that. If you have to redig a sequence, it will significantly speed up the batch capture process.
