Want to render MPEG 2s to use in a DVD. When I select File Render As, Custom, Template has the following in it:

Default, SVCD NTSC, SVD PAL, DVD NTSC, DVD PAL, DVD NTSC video stream, DVD PAL separate streams

    What should I select?

When I play the resulting MPEG 2 using the Media Player, it looks fine. When I play the resulting DVD, it looks like the image is more “zoomed” (for lack of a better word) by just a little. E.g., some of the Text Backgrounds have the edges of their letters chopped by just a hair. This doesn’t appear in an MPEG 1 or 2 when played with Media Player. In fact, creating a VCD, it doesn’t happen either.

What am I doing wrong when I create the MPEG 2?
    Thanks in advance.

Start with DVD NTSC (or DVD PAL). Also, take a look at Vol 1 #7 of my newsletters for more info.

    Tyson,

You may have checked this but perhaps the part of the frame that is chopped off is outside the safe zone of the display device you are watching the DVD on. You can check this by turning on a safe zone boundry option on the preview window of Vegas. It will show you what parts of your frame are at risk.
