  • VTR missing preroll point during Batch Digitise

WE frequently have an issue during Batch Digitise, where the VTR spools PAST the preroll point and just keeps on going …
If you abort & retry the capture, it will perform correctly.

Any clues what’s causing this and how I can fix it?
Not sure if it’s limited to one VTR or not, but certainly happens with the Sony DVW-2000P.

Running Media Composer 2.8 with Unity.

    Thanks,
    Neil.

Go into the deck settings and disable ‘fast cue’, see if that helps.
(Avid always overshoots a bit in my shop, regardless the deck. This is a fix for me)

Same here. Make sure to disable FAST CUE. That keeps the tape speed slow enough for either VITC or LTC to register on the heads during shuttle. (I think that’s the reason it works!)
