Post on the Apple OSX Forum as well…

I’ve been looking for an RS422 – Sony P2 deck control software solution for the Mac.

    Anyone know of one?

I just want to remotely control the deck in a room equipped with a monitor and speakers. No editing. No ingest. Just play, pause, rewind, etc.

I’ve tried AJA VTR Exchange. It sees the deck through the Keyspan but refuses to control it. I assume this is because it is looking for video and there is no capture card.

According to their website, Pipeline Digital’s logging software doesn’t work with Intel Mac’s.

Any everything else seems to be for Windows.

Do you have FCP or similar, or are you looking only for a Mac based third party utility for this? One such tool might be Gallery’s Virtual VTR software https://www.virtualvtr.com/

If you have Parallels Desktop, VMWare Fusion or similar then one of these might be suitable:

    Try this:
    https://www.videotoolshed.com/product/22/deck-control/2

Win and mac, controls up to 8 decks.

    And it’s free.
(I forgot if there is still a serial needed, but if so, mail me and i’ll get you one)

May I request a serial from you? I recently try to connect the Sony BVW-50 VTR to PC through video capture card, but encountering problem.

If I can have one, Thanks in advance!

Both Mac and Windows versions are updated and should behave better.
Also, there is no serial number needed anymore.

    So download and toy around!
