VP16 : Cannot import mp4 video with mp3 audio but I can import a standalone .mp3

February 11, 2021 at 6:03 amHello, I cannot import an mp4 video having mp3 as audio track (I get the error “The file is most likely corrupted or of an unknown format”) but I can import a standalone .mp3 file or a mp4 having no audio or having AAC audio.
As a workaround, I extract the video and audio tracks and import them separately but it’s not a viable solution.
Please help : – (
Here’s an example MediaInfo of a vidéo I cannot open :

February 11, 2021 at 6:24 amUsually MP4 video contains video stream AVC and audio stream AAC.
For this type Video AVC and audio MP3 is not a wide-standard.
Transcode it.

February 11, 2021 at 6:39 amThanks for your quick reply Setiawan but I’d rather not transcode the audio part in AAC (loss of quality) just to be able to open the video in Vegas. Isn’t there another solution ? Extracting the tracks to open them separately on Vegas is what I currently do but it’s a very tedious task if I have to do it every time.
PS : Although the video is not standard, I am able to play it without any problem on VLC or MPC-HC.
