Posted by Sionzero on March 2, 2007 at 3:19 pmHi, Everyone
This is my first post here and new to PI.
Is there a way to create or edit a true convincing vortex or a blackhole type emitter
like the one you see on the movie Blackhole from the 80s.
I need to creae something like this for educational purpose.
Does anyone has a tutorial or a link on how to… with this matter.I also would like to know if PI will one day will become 3D.
Thanks.

March 2, 2007 at 5:35 pmWow – that’s wierd. Last week i was going through all of my old files, and found this one from 2001 – I think it was when the program was called still Illusion, and it was version 1.1. I considered trashing it, but I didn’t…

This should get you started. Make the stage bigger for the full black hole to be seen.

You can’t see a black hole. 😉
We’re planning 4.0 to be 3D, but don’t expect that until 2008.

March 5, 2007 at 5:13 pmDon’t worry — when it does go 3D, there will be a way to stay in 2D mode if that’s what you prefer.

March 5, 2007 at 9:54 pmIs there a way to get this Vortex Blackhole emitter to be compatible with PI SE? I have 3.0 at home but at work I use PI SE.
Thanks!

March 6, 2007 at 4:48 amThe file in that zip is an ipf, meanings its an 2.0/SE file. Should open up in SE just fine.

March 9, 2007 at 7:56 pmThanks Elvis. I must have been doing something wrong like actually looking for the file instead of opening a project.
Thanks again for the fast shipping on your training CD. I received it two days ago.
