  • Volume nodes on bus track?

Posted by David Crews on March 11, 2010 at 5:08 am

I’m running ver. 13.0.4 (Intel) on a Mac OSX, 10.5.7. 2×3 GHz, 8 GB ram.

Hopefully a simple question to answer.
I was once able to place volume nodes on the bus track. Can’t seem to do that now and don’t know why or how to do so.

My pdf User Guide from 2006 (is there a newer one? Could not locate on M100 site) says:

To adjust the level per frame at the CTI
1 In the Program Window, place the CTI on the frame you want to adjust.
2 In the Bus section of the Audio Window, activate the Per Frame button.
3 Click and drag the Bus gain fader to adjust the level.
As you perform this action, a node appears on the Bus audio level control line.

I can’t find any “Per Frame” button and no nodes appear when I adjust the line (it moves the entire line up or down, but no nodes to adjust just a portion of the overall audio. Tried Option, Command, Control clicking, etc, with no effect.

Probably something simple I overlooked. Your help appreciated.

Hmmm, works for me in the timeline. In the audio mixer, there should be a “frame” button on each bus track. If you enable that you should also create nodes when dragging the slider in the audio mixer.

    Thanks.
I found the button and can make nodes using the pot slider in the mixer, but still can’t make any nodes directly on the timeline. If I try to adjust a node that the mixer made, it deletes it.

What version are you using? 13.0.4? Maybe you should try the 13.0.5 update. Not sure if it is fixed there or not, though. But it definitely works in Suite 1.5.
One thing you could try, though, is change the zoom level of your timeline. I remember a bug with keyframes on the bus tracks related to different zoom levels.

    Floh,

I am running 13.0.4. Apparently, I have that bug. Changing scale enabled the nodes on the timeline.
    Thanks!
