June 18, 2007 at 8:16 amI have just read that this lack of volume control to my monitors is as a result of the BMD drivers not being able to access Windows volume control….is there a fix in the pipeline for this?

August 1, 2007 at 12:14 pmI’d like to hear the official word from BM on this as well. From the several conversations I’ve had with BM tech support, it seems like they don’t consider the lack of audio level control to be a bug. On the other hand, I wasn’t given clear advice on how to deal with it.
I’ve gathered from other threads (primarily in the Kona discussion list and primarily from Bob Zelin) that the answer is just to get a mixer. Getting a mixer may seem like an obvious thing to audio engineers or film editors, but as a beginning filmmaker it wasn’t obvious to me. If a mixer is the answer, why isn’t there a note anywhere on the BM website? Why don’t the BM tech support people provide this advice??

August 1, 2007 at 12:19 pmI should add that my issue is with monitoring analog out, not S/PDIF, but as far as I can tell, it’s the same problem.
