    Hi guys,

I know this has been asked recently, but no-one seemed to remedy the problem, so hopefully this time someone might have stumbled upon the answer.

I am having a problem getting an input through the voiceover tool. I am using a mic hooked up to our mixer, which has its output in turn hooked to the input of my Blackmagic DeckLink Extreme. But when I open the voiceover tool and select the source as Decklink there is no levels.

I have played around with the external AV settings but to no avail. Can anyone help?

    Cheers

Don’t know why it won’t work that way, but you could just take the output of the mixer to the line input of your mac… I’ll bet that works OK.

the line input, is just the 1/4 inch jack socket at the back of the G5 right?

also forgot to mention – when the mic is hooked up…it works fine in the capture window….but not when i open the voiceover tool.

    Jerry is right.

RIght now it’s not possible to use any decklink card with the voice over tool,
    at least in our experience.

Perhaps the Blackmagic guys here have some answeres.

It’s likely a problem with FCP… not utilizing the BM card’s inputs.

Black Magic cards neeed to see incoming video as well as the audio. Connect a deck or other video source to the video input and try it again.
