voiceover tool: “no recording range set”
I keep getting “No recording range set” in the voice over tool (FCP 6.03 with my usb mic plugged in) and can see levels but it won’t let me record. Then later on it goes back to letting me record, saying (new) track A2 (or whatever). Any suggestions as to what am doing wrong, and then right…. ?

You have to mark IN and OUT on the timeline, and have an open track.
This is why I make a new sequence and lay SLUG on the VIdeo track for 40 min.

Huh weird I never marked in and out points in my film narrated away for weeks no problem Till suddenly I couldnt at all it said I couldnt have more than 99 tracks (i did not have that many) So I trashed preferences…then after trashing preferences now I have this same problem…”no recording range set”
