so i’m trying to record a voice over in vegas, which i have been able to do with one slight problem. when i record, the wave that’s created includes the audio i have on other tracks. i’m trying to record just the narration while being able to watch the video in the timeline. i can solo the narration track or mute the other tracks, but i need to hear everything while recording for pacing. what am i missing?

Listen to your existing audio with headphones while you record your narration.

that doesn’t answer my recording problem. when i record in vegas, it records all of my audio tracks to a new wave file. i want only the narration recorded, but i don’t want to mute the other tracks. is there a way that i can record only my voice over while in vegas, but hear my other tracks?

You need an audio card with independently controllable multiple ins & outs to be able to do this 🙁
