I am trying to do a voice over on the Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5.
I can hear my mic (it is live all the time) but when I click the record and play button in the audio mixer it only gives me the green box in the audio but with no sound with it.
What is it that I am doing wrong?
Thanks so much for your help.

Is the desired track on the “write” mode?

Yes I tried it in this mode and still no voice
The green bars dont move to show that it is picking it up. It shows the green audio mark but with no sound waves in it.
    Any other ideas?
I read all the things in the book also.. ;-(

did you set the input to the microphone in your windows volume control?
do you have another audio program you can test with, to see if the problem is Premiere or your system?
audacity is a free open source audio program which is pretty good if you don’t have audition or sound forge.

At first I could not hear anything so I went into that voume part in my system , I am running XP on it and it was muted for the mic. I did uncheck it and turn it all the way up.I can hear the mic and now it is always live..
