  Voice over problem in CS5

  I am unable to record voice over in any soundtrack on the timeline of my project. The voice over only works at the end of the timeline where no video or audio are present. If I manage to have an empty space at the beginning of the timeline before the first video and audio rush, the voice over does not work either. If I create an empty sequence the voice over works fine in it.
  Is there anything in the project settings which can be at the origin of this problem?
