VOB to DVD NTSC without re-render
I’ve been reading a lot of posts with any mention of a .vob file but can’t find anything that answers my question.
Since Vegas doesn’t jive well with Xvid (I’ve tried opening the .avi’s direct in vegas, but only the audio stream works, video is constant black) I have converted my Xvid .avi’s to .vob using another program. I don’t want to convert using another program or to another format as this is what I have found to produce the best quality (as seen on the computer).
The .vob’s are Mpeg2 and Acc3 as told by gspot. I can open the .vob’s in vegas and the video and audio seems fine. After I select just the portion of the file I want to output I try to render the selection as DVD NTSC which is Mpeg2 video and Acc3 audio, so in my mind this shouldn’t require a re-render, it should just extract the portion I want, however this is not the case. It seems that no matter what I do it wants to re-render the file.
Since I am going from Mpeg2 to Mepg2 and Acc3 to Acc3 is there not a way to do this without re-rendering?
