    hi folks…

here’s what i have going on
i’m trying to make a dvd from burned dvd…it is a two hour dance recital
it has the opening generic menu that i do not want

all i want is the video part…to start up and run
so i copied the vts_vob files into roxio toast…

    worked great

however i have 5 files labeled vts_vob, they look like this VTS_01_1.VOB, VTS_01_2.VOB, ect
there are 5 of these in order…however they all appear to be of the same file size…
how do i know what the right one is or are they all the same ?

is VTS 5 better or the correct one to use or is VTS 1 the right one ??? or are they all the same.

if anyone has the answer i would be very very grateful
    thanks

They are all part of the main video. It just splits the video up into diffrent .vob files. Once it gets to around the 1GB limit then another .vob file is created. So if you have a 4GB fideo file there should be 4 .vob viles in the folder…you need ALL of them in order to play the entire video.

    Arty,

Think of the files as a film that is on several reels. Starts with reel VTS_01_1.VOB then goes to VTS_01_2.VOB then to …

The DVD file system has a file size limit so the two hour video is broken up into smaller pieces.

BTW, the menus are encoded into the VOB files so you are still going to have them in the copy.

    ok…
    so that’s the thing
i only brought over the first vts_1_vob file…
and so far my dvd is working great without the other 3 vts-vob’s

    that’s why i was confused…
when i brought over all 4 vob files into roxio toast it said i had over 15 gb’s of information…which can’t be true because i ripped the files from a 4 gb dvd.
