  • VOB files only show :15 seconds in Sorenson Squeeze…AHHHHH

Posted by Magic I on February 20, 2007 at 5:40 pm

Hey there I can’t get Sorenson Squeeze 4.2 to read all of our VOB files. It brings in :15 seconds of our :30 commercial but won’t give us the full :30 spot. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    ryan

Try first converting the VOB to a MPEG-2 Program Stream. MPEG StreamClip should be able to help with this. Also, make sure you are using the latest version of Squeeze for your license, which is 4.3.3.

well i cant make an mpeg file if sorensen isnt reading the whole vob file –thats he problem -i can rip the vob file from the disc but sorensen is not letting me see the entire vob file –its only letting me see about 30 seconds of it–

the vob file is from a disc the was burned using a dvd player/recorder (not computer burner) a stand alone player.

never had a problem ripping DVD movies and such —

    thanks

Riiiiight…(extreme sarcasm here) This is why I said to try converting the VOB to a program stream first using MPEG StreamClip. Go back and read my post. Squeeze does not need to be involved for this first step. Just drop the VOB into StreamClip and select Convert to MPEG.

Thanks! We got it and the MPEG’s are compressing as we speak.
