VMS8 Platinum shows different background color on different computers?
I just got Vegas Movie Studio 8 Platinum after playing around with Movie Studio 6 for the last year.
I’m going to be diving into a big 8mm film transfer project and so I’ve done two things. First I registered here at Creative COW, second I installed the software on a computer at work so I can spend lunch playing and learning.
My home computer is an Intel Q6600 cpu with an EVGA NVIDIA 8600GT 512mb video card running XP Pro on a new Dell 2408WFP monitor calibrated with a Spyder3 Pro. My work computer is an Intel Core 2 Duo with NVIDIA Quadro 128mb video card, XP Pro, on a NEC 2090uxi monitor calibrated with the same Spyder3 Pro.
The Dell display shows the Vegas background color as a very light tan. The NEC display shows the Vegas background color as a medium dark gray. I find the NEC colors easier on my eyes and less distracting.
It’s not a big issue, but does anyone have an idea why these colors are so different? Is it the different video cards? Is there a way to modify the background color?
