Vista-Quicktime-p2Raw files
I have a project files from a MACOSX/FinalCut Pro Render machine, rendered at:
HD 960×720 23.98 fps
DVC Pro HD 720P60 Compression (5.9 MB/sec)
Shot on a Panasonic AVX200.
I imported the files into AE and all I see is a white screen. Audio stream is present and plays back. File sizes are roughly 250MB each.
I tried to playback the files in QT 7.1.6 and the application hangs and eventually stops responding.Just wondering if anyone has ventured into Vista as a work platform and seen this problem.

I believe it happens when you are missing the necessary video decompressor(codec). Try to install the free P2 Viewer from panasonic and see if it helps.

You’ll need the DVCPROHD decoder for quicktime windows. Get it
at https://dvfilm.com/raylight/decoder -

That won’t help; Apple refuses to implement DVCPRO-HD support on the Windows version of Quicktime. What you need to do is what mvb said — get the dvfilm.com Quicktime Decoder; it’ll add the necessary missing support.

Well, I tried all the suggestions and still I see a white screen and hear audio. I updated Vista and QuickTime and bought QT Pro 7, but no change. Not sure what else to do. I am Googling my brains out trying to find a solution. I’ll let you know if I find anything that works.
