I want to experiement a bit with some virtual sets and am looking for either a very low cost set or a website where i might be able to find a free demo set or download for experimentation purposes.

Does anyone know of a website that i could find such an animal? The sites I have gone to want $300 plus for a virual set and for learning the process I’m not sure I want to spend that kind of cabbage.

    Thanks

    Phil

If you don’t want to spend the cabbage, try creating s simple set on your own. Create a stippled background in Photoshop using textures, then add lighting effects, matte in some plants, place a photo on the back wall, etc. If you’re using it for a 3 camera shoot, make a master panoramic and crop out a left, middle and right view from the master. It takes time to come up with a good one, but then there’s always the cash option.

Building backgrounds can be fun. You can also use textures in Motion and Livetype as backgrounds for a less realistic, but cool, look.
