Activity Forums Boris FX Particle Illusion Virtual Dub?

    dear PI folks,

I would be greatly obliged if you could do me a huge favor… I am having a hard time loading video into PI. I have downloaded virtual dub but don’t really understand what to do with it… ultimately I’m trying to work with .avi files in PI (SE) but the program continually gives me messages that say the format is wrong. How does one convert .avi files to a form that will work with particle illusion?

Virtualdub is the best software for that! And it is free.

Load your video in. Then go to video/compression and choose the codec you want. Then return to file and choose save avi as…

    Tadam!

Many codec work. That’s depend of the quality you want? What is the codec of your present video file?

My self i use the DV codec form mainconcept and the DIVX codec. And some time the ‘uncompress’ codec.
