i’m kinda new to cinema. i’m running R9 on Mac OS X 10.4.7 on a dual 2ghz G5 tower. i’m working on a project and i added a camera to my objects. i then set my perspective viewport (F1) to be that camera. i then accidentally set my front viewport (F4) to that camera also. realizing what i did, i went to the viewport menu and chose CAMERA>FRONT. well, it changed the forth viewport to front, but it also changed the first (perspective) viewport to front. now any view change (left, right, top, perspective, camera, etc) i make to either viewport, also happens to the other, like they are connected somehow.

does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get my front viewport to be the front while keeping my perspective (camera) viewport without having to start the project over again?

thank you in advance for your suggestions and keep in mind i am pretty new to this program.

Yep, what you need to do is change the viewport back to “Editor Camera” in the viewport’s Camera menu. If your viewport is set to use a camera object and you just change the projection, you’re actually changing the camera’s object’s projection. That’s why the change was reflected in both viewports.

Adam, I’ve never really understood the point of being able to have a camera object anything other than perspective.

Am I missing something here, do you EVER use any other projection on your camera objects?
