viewing fields separately
I have some 29.97i footage. I would like to de-interlace the footage and then view each FIELD separately. Is it just a matter of de-interlacing into a 59.XX comp? Thanks

if you simply wanted to view the each field, you can hold alt (win) or option (osx) and double-click the footage in the project window. then step though it in the preview using the arrow keys. (note, ae has to be set to separate fields for that footage first, do that in file>interpret footage>main).
if you wanted it in a comp, then yes your method is correct (comp frame rate would be 59.94 for 29.97i footage). if the pan is to render out as 59.94 progressive, then you might also want to check the option for ‘preserve edges’ in the interpret footage settings.
