when playback is stopped in timeline I see all multicam views, when I start playback in the timeline I only see the same image that is in the canvas, I’m sure it’s an easy fix but I haven’t been able find anything. Would really appreciate some help

This belongs in the basic forum.

Make sure the viewer is set to Open playhead sync and that the timeline is being played back. Do not play back the viewer.

Thanks, I know it sounds basic but the sync is open and I am playing the timeline. Wherever there is a green render bar it will play the multiclips in sync with the timeline. Where there is a blue render bar the exact image in the canvas plays in the viewer. Help!

There should be nothing rendered. Dump your render files and see if that clears it up.

dumped render files with no effect. it’s odd that the multiclips show up when the timeline is inactive but as soon as you start the playback you get matching views in the viewer and canvas. Thanks for your help, i’ve been dealing with this for two days

Try collapsing and uncollapsing your multiclips. I often have this problem and this usually resets them – although this would be the equivalent of trashing your render files which was already suggested. Also make sure that you do have in fact have multiclip playback selected. I believe the short cut for it is one that could be accidentally pressed quite easily.

Thanks Andrew, this is the most frustrating problem I have ever encountered in this software. Collapsing the multiclips didn’t seem to help. There are portions of the timeline that playback correctly, meaning that you see all the angles in the viewer and they are synced, these have a green code in the render bar, however when the timeline reaches a gray code the viewer has the same image that is in the canvas. If I import a new clip into the timeline it works perfectly, only the previously edited mutliclips seem to have a problem which makes me think I accidently did something. I have multiclip playback checked on and also the sync open in the viewer.

I had the exact same problem you’re describing, I tried uncollapsing, and collapsing again, and it cleared it up and made it green.

I would suggest turning the autorender off so it doesn’t render your multiclips automatically -if you’re running same res, and it’s all real time playback.
