After recently upgrading one of my PC systems to XP SP 2, I noticed I could no longer “view source” of a web page in IE. I was wondering what got disabled in the upgrade and if there is a way to change it back. I find it handy when you want to look at source code of a webpage for ideas and “how did they do that” 🙂

    Any help would be appreciated.

    hello…

not experiencing that in my ie here with a similar build – is this happening with every site? and what happens when you choose the view source item from either the top menus or the context menu?

[Curtis Thompson] “what happens when you choose the view source item from either the top menus or the context menu? “

zip..nadda….nothing. I wonder if there is something in the privacy settings that got turned up a notch when IE got updated in SP 2 or one of the windows updates. Very strange. I guess it is Google time.

    Thanks for the reply.

It’s always the Temp Files in IE. Just delete them and View Source will begin to work – just don’t forget to reload the page after you delete your temp files or it won’t work.
