  • View 2 frames on Timeline for comparison? Color Correction Tips?

In Final Cut Pro, we have a frame viewer that lets us view 2 frames on our timeline. This is helpful when we’re color correcting one shot to look like another.

I’m wondering if there’s any such tool for AFX, or if there’s any way to quickly switch from one frame to another.

Any color correction tips you experts may have?

there is a snapshot button at the bottom of the comp window. Looks like a little camera. Then hold on the button next to it to switch back to the snapshot.

Press SHIFT+F5 to grab a screenshot, press F5 to see the screenshot. It’s the same like clicking the screenshot button like described in the thread above.

    And…

You can store up to 4 snapshots, since Shift-F5 to Shift-F8 are for creating a snapshot, and F5 to F8 bring up the snapshot.

I’d only wish there were more… But it’s very handy when doing color grading.

If you have Color Finesse installed you can correct against a reference frame. Very useful.
