Question: Is there a Mojo or AJA IO type device that can capture component analog video and balanced audio to both AVID and FCP?

I need to set up a capture/print to video station in my central machine room which can work with video from both my avid and fcp rooms.

Head over to the Convergent Design forum and ask them when they will support such a move. They are working on it as we speak, but right now they are a DV only option, i think.

I think the Laird Inertia is an independent box that will work in any NLE.

Hi, and thanks for your response. I must apollogize for not being clearer in the first place:

What I want to do is have all my rooms (FCP, After Effects, AVID) linked to a RAID server, which can store the digitized media in a format compatible with FCP and AVID.

I thought maybe a Canopus system would work, if I capture everything w/ Canopus’ AVI codec, will I be able to import it into FCP and Avid without really time-consuming conversions?
