    Hi,

I have a couple of instructional videos in avi format which I can play and view in Windows Media Player.

However, when I load the videos in Vegas 7 to make a compilation, I only get the audio stream and not the video.

How do I fix this problems?

    Thanks.

    Vic

Download Gspot to find out which codec was used for the instructional videos, and install that codec. Vegas should read it after doing so.
If they’re MJPEG for example, you’ll need an MJPEG codec installed (Vegas 8 has one, but not Vegas7)

    Hi Douglas,

Got Gspot and the info on the codec used for the video is

    XviD ISO MPEG-4

It also reports that the codec is installed (the video plays in WMP), but when I try to load the video in V7, I still only get the audio stream.

    Regards,

    Vic

You’ll need to convert the video from Xvid to another codec supported in Vegas.
