    Hey guys,

I have a problem here. I just did a project that recquired a lot of scenes and I wanted to test Adobe Encore DVD 1.5 tryout version this morning (I downloaded it last night). So as you guess I’m pretty newbie to it, but since I’m pretty familiar with the Adobe interface it isn’t much of a big thing.

So as I said in my post title, when I import my quicktime (*.mov) files, it says I have to import them as 720X480! What? They are all at 640X480, I don’t want to re-edit 200 scenes one by one to make them as 720X480. There must be a way to change this easily, no? Maybe if I did all the editing in Avid, export the final movie at 720X480 and then do my DVD menu in Encore?

One more question, is the tryout version (for 30 days) the same as the real version?

    Thx a lot guys!

Encore requires that your video assets be the correct dimensions and frame rates for the DVD specifications. That means 720×480 or 720×486, 29.97 (or 23.976) for NTSC. If you’re not producing at that size, you will need to convert your video to that size using another program.

If you downloaded the demo, didn’t you get Encore 2.0, not 1.5? I believe the demos do everything except allow you to burn a DVD.

The Encore 2.0 tryout does allow you to burn DVDs. Fully functional for 30 days. 🙂

    Thx guys.

    Yeah but Encore DVD 2.0 recquires a SS2, or something, wich I don’t have…

    Now that I know that 1.5 doesn’t burn DVDs, I don’t know what I’m gonna do :\

if the demo allows you to make a disc image – you can then burn that.
