Oh, thanks. I don’t know one way or the other if it will help me get a job by saying that because I have experience doing fashion videography that I could try to get a given video company fashion industry clients, but it’s something I’ll at least keep in mind.

Totally agree Stephen. I do all my editing with Vegas Pro at my job and do FX work with After Effects. I think it’s a great combo. So jobs DO exist where Vegas Pro is used, but FCP is definitely more mainstream.
Everything on this site below is edited with Vegas Pro. I find it to be a fantastic editor. I render out h.264 files in After Effects so the video can play on cell phones and other mobile devices.
