This is a new one for me and curious if anybody can shed some light on my situation. I have several 60 minute shows that I am going from:

    640×360 FLVs compressed with H264

    to

1280×720 MOVs also compressed with H264 at a much higher data rate

I’m doing this using compressor and find that by the end of the videos I can be off a/v sync by 3, 4, 10 seconds even. My only guess is maybe compressor could be dropping frames since the compressions take several hours (approx 6-10 hours each).

I’m redoing this, this morning without the upres to see if that could be causing the problem. Audio is set to 44.1/16 on both the source FLV and the MOV I’m making. Destination is Youtube for these shows, the main reason I’m recompressing a compressed file is youtube rejects the source FLVs with H264, it does however like FLV with On2VP6 (go figure).

    Any help is much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Chadwick

it may be obvious, but have you confirmed the 29.97 vs 30fps?

That may cause that kind of drift…

    Just throwing out options.

The source was 30fps and I had the setting set to do same as source. I’m going to try again to force set it at 30fps in the new setting and see if that makes a difference.
