A client has asked me to produce a video that will be shown a Sony Ziris multiple monitor display.

The delivery format spec is 1920 x 1080, which is no big deal for us. However, in the fine print, the RFP suggest using Vector graphics because their resolution is 11300 x 4400. Doing a little math, that’s an aspect ratio of about 2.5, while the 1980 x 1020 is 1.77.

Has anyone ever produced materials for a Ziris system? It doesn’t make sense to me to produce at 1.77 if it’s being displayed at 2.5, although I would assume that the exhibition company knows what it’s asking for. Sounds like either black bars on the side or stretched images, right?

Why don’t you have your client put you in touch with the technician who will be running the display?

The Ziris system is simply a management and delivery architecture which means the delivery specs can vary greatly from implementation to implementation.

The 11300×4400 sounds like the resolution of the entire wall which means the RFP is, hopefully, suggesting some kind of placeholder image if needed. That would be my speculation.

Thanks for the reply Angelo. I have reached out to the convention center, I just thought someone here might have some experience to share so I can discuss it being a little better informed.
