Video via DisplayPort to Eizo CG243W
Hi,
My background is photography but I’m starting to edit 1080 video. I want to be able to grade to broadcast standard.I’ve just bought an Eizo ColorEdge CG243W computer monitor to use for photography and video. It is switchable to a Rec 709 colour space and if you input via DisplayPort it is 10 bit and can display billions of colours and can be hardware calibrated.
I currently use a Blackmagic Extreme HD card in a Mac Pro to output via component to a 17″ JVC HD CRT monitor but would like to be able to see 1080 at full resolution. I also have an X-Rite EyeOne Pro spectrophotometer I can use to calibrate.
My questions are:
1) My Blackmagic Extreme HD has SDI outputs. Should I use an SDI to DisplayPort converter to monitor on the Eizo? If so which one.
2) What is the best calibration routine to set up the Eizo and the CRT to broadcast standard?Cheers,
Jonathan
